Ingredients

Pudding Base

  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix Or banana cream for extra banana flavor.
  • 3 cups cold milk As per pudding box instructions.
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk Optional for an extra creamy touch.
  • 8 oz whipped topping Or homemade whipped cream.

Fruits and Cookies

  • 24 cookies vanilla wafers or butter cookies
  • 2 large fresh bananas Sliced.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries Sliced.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Optional for extra flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. If using, whisk in the sweetened condensed milk. Let sit for a couple of minutes.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping to make the mixture fluffy.

Layering

  • In a glass trifle dish or a 9x13 dish, layer cookies, followed by pudding, then sliced bananas, and then strawberries. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
  • Finish with a layer of pudding topped with crushed cookies and a few strawberry slices for garnish.

Chilling

  • Chill the pudding for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas and slice them right before layering to keep them fresh. Let it chill long enough to allow the flavors to meld and for cookies to absorb moisture and soften.
