Ingredients
1 1/2poundsground beef
1/2cupbreadcrumbs
1largeegg
1tspsalt
1/2tspblack pepper
1tspgarlic powder
1tbspWorcestershire sauce
1tbspolive oil
1mediumonion, sliced
8ozmushrooms, sliced
2cupsbeef broth
2tbspcornstarch
2tbspwater
Instructions
Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet and lightly brown the patties on both sides.
Layer sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom of the crockpot.
Place the browned patties on top of the vegetables.
Pour beef broth over everything.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours.
Mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
Stir the mixture into the crockpot and cook until the gravy thickens.
Notes
Browning the patties adds extra flavor and helps them hold together. Mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles pair well with this dish. Leftovers reheat well and store easily for meal prep.
