Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith + Honeycrisp mix works best)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place in a greased 10-inch skillet or baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Spread over apples.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, until topping is golden and apples are bubbling.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and optional caramel drizzle.

Notes

Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor.
To make individual servings, divide the mixture into ramekins before baking.
Reheat leftovers in the oven to restore the crisp texture.
