Cooking spray or a light brush of oilTo spray on top before air frying.
Instructions
Preparation
In a large bowl, stir together chopped broccoli, cheddar, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until the mixture holds together when squeezed.
If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs; if too dry, add a little more egg or yogurt.
Shape the mixture into tablespoon-sized balls and flatten them into nuggets for even crisping.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if required.
Cooking
Place the poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket, spray the tops lightly with cooking spray, and air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
The poppers are done when golden and firm to the touch.
Notes
For best results, ensure broccoli is well-dried after steaming. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer for optimal crispiness.
