Ingredients

salmon fillets

black pepper

garlic powder

lemon (zested and halved)

tbsp
olive oil

cloves
garlic, minced

tbsp
butter
Instructions
Rinse salmon and pat dry.
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon zest in a small bowl.
Rub seasoning on salmon fillets.
Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Place salmon skin-side down and cook 3–4 minutes.
Flip fillets and add butter and minced garlic.
Spoon garlic butter over salmon as it cooks.
Squeeze lemon juice over top and cook to 125°F for medium-rare.
Remove and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Let salmon rest before serving for best texture.
Swap butter for olive oil to make it lighter.
