Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 6 bags Black tea bags or family size tea bags Use your preferred type for sweet tea.
  • 4 cups Water For brewing the tea.

Peach Syrup

  • 3-4 pieces Fresh peaches Medium, ripe and fragrant. Peeling is not necessary.
  • 1 cup Sugar Start with less if you prefer a lighter sweetness.
  • 2 cups Water For simmering the peaches.

Optional

  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Optional, adds brightness to the flavor.
  • 2 cups Ice For serving.

Instructions

Brew the Tea

  • Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep the tea bags until the liquid is a deep amber color. Avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.

Prepare Peach Syrup

  • Slice the peaches and simmer them with 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar until the peaches are super soft and the mixture smells like peach jam.
  • Strain the peach syrup into a separate container, pressing the peaches to extract all the juice and flavor.

Combine and Serve

  • Stir the peach syrup into the brewed tea. If desired, add a small squeeze of lemon juice for added flavor.
  • Chill the mixture in the fridge, then serve over ice.

Notes

Tips: Start with less sugar than initially thought, as it's easier to add than to remove. If your tea tastes bitter, check the steeping time. Can be made with frozen peaches as well.
