  • measuring spoons
  • serving glass

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dairy-free milk (almond or oat)
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1–2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons flaxseed meal (or chia seeds)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender.
  • Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Taste and adjust: add more banana for sweetness, or more turmeric for spice.
  • Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
  • If using a low-powered blender, blend frozen fruit in stages (½ cup at a time).
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours and stir before drinking.

Notes

Black pepper boosts turmeric absorption, don’t skip it.
Frozen banana adds creaminess and balances turmeric’s flavor.
Add protein powder to turn it into a meal replacement.
Freeze in cubes and re-blend for a quick smoothie later.
