Ingredients
12lasagna noodles, cooked until al dente
2cupsmarinara or tomato sauce
1poundground beef or Italian sausage (or plant-based substitute)
1cupricotta cheese
2cupsshredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
1/2cupgrated Parmesan cheese
1tbspolive oil
1medium onion, diced
2clovesgarlic, minced
1tspItalian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Ghost-shaped mozzarella slices (cut with cookie cutters)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
Add ground beef or sausage, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned.
Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes to develop flavor.
In a baking dish, layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta, shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat until dish is full.
Top with extra sauce and remaining mozzarella. Add ghost-shaped mozzarella slices on top for decoration.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
