Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 oz pasta (broken lasagna noodles or penne)
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef or turkey with diced onion over medium heat until cooked through.
  • Add marinara sauce and uncooked pasta. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Cover and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  • Stir in cottage cheese and mix until creamy and heated through.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella over top, cover until cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

Use any short pasta if you don’t have lasagna noodles.
Swap beef for plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian version.
Add red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
Top with extra parmesan or fresh herbs for garnish.
