Classic Ambrosia Salad

A creamy, fruity classic, Ambrosia salad combines whipped topping, sour cream, marshmallows, and tropical fruit for a nostalgic dessert that’s both easy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce/226g container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup (120g) sour cream
  • 1 15-ounce/425g can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 20-ounce/567g can pineapple tidbits in juice, drained
  • 1 12-ounce/340g jar maraschino cherries, drained, stemmed, and patted dry
  • 2 cups (100g) mini marshmallows (plain or fruity)
  • 2/3 cup (66g) shredded sweetened coconut

Instructions

  • Fold together whipped topping and sour cream in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Stir in oranges, pineapple, cherries, marshmallows, and coconut.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Garnish with extra cherries and coconut, if desired.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or whipped coconut cream for dairy-free Ambrosia.
