Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • cookie scoop or spoon
  • parchment paper (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line the basket with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed in the batter.
  • Drop 2-tablespoon mounds of batter into the air fryer basket, spacing them apart. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
  • Air fry at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until fritters are golden and cooked through.
  • Let fritters cool for 1–2 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For best results, use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket — work in batches. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to restore crispness.
