Instructions
Preparation
Wash and dry the apples.
Slice off the sides around the core to create thick apple slabs.
Lay each slab flat and slice into sticks resembling fries.
Toss the sticks with a little lemon juice if preparing ahead to prevent browning.
Coating
Set up three bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and a third with breadcrumbs mixed with cinnamon sugar.
Dip each apple stick in the flour, followed by the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Place the coated sticks on a plate until you finish the batch.
Cooking
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
Air fry the apple sticks for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying lightly with cooking spray.
Check for crispness and adjust cooking time if necessary.
Serving
Serve the apple fries immediately while warm with the Yum O dipping sauce.
Notes
For the best results, do not crowd the air fryer basket, and pat dry the apple sticks before coating. Serve with various dips for extra fun!
